Get to Know Your Blogger

You know getting started with a blog is one thing that you are never sure about until you truly sit down and actually start working on it. I never knew what to expect when I decided that I was going to go on this blogging adventure. Yeah sure school’s out and there is not much to discuss some days when it’s summer vacation. I thought about the topic that I would cover but why should I cover one topic when there are so many that I am passionate about.
#Disney?! Oh yeah, I’m down for a good Disney trip and even sharing some tips and tricks that we have found that work for us. #Children?! Of course this one is going to happen. I am a mother after all and while I struggle through this life we call motherhood I want to share with you things that have worked for me or even just talk. #Do-It-Yourself? Oh heck yes, I’m more than willing to share my fails with you! I mean you’ll share with me right? Of course you will… well maybe not but that’s okay if you don’t. #Baking?! Oh man, I am so down for that! It’s my dream come true… well maybe not a dream come true. #Writing? Of course I’ll share some little drabbles with you that I’ve written. Keep in mind that they aren’t the best as sometimes I just write and it keeps me sane. #Books? I’m there too. I’ve got well over 1000 books so why won’t I share with you what I’m reading? What my son’s read? If it’s worth it or not. #Shopping?! Oh yes, let me tell you I can shop with the best of them. I can also find really good sales and if you’ve got a store nearby that has a similar sale going on trust me you’ll want to know about it.
I’ll be honest with you all. This is a little scary. I’m putting things out there for the world to see. For the world to read. I’m letting the world into our lives and hoping that you all come to love my family as much as I love my family and maybe consider us a bit of an extended family!
So let me tell you a bit about me and my family. That does include the furbabies. My husband and I were married in April of 2008. We did hit ten years recently and only at 31 years old. My husband and I tease each other occasionally when it comes to our birthdays. He is just four days older than I. He’s a gamer and I’ll probably discuss something about gaming here and there. However, it’ll be honest opinions. I will admit that I game as well and honestly I never would have thought about some of the games I’ve played if I hadn’t seen him play them first. Or heck never play after watching 20245428_10101748003868482_8426232613535773484_nhim play and I’ll get to that later. So our kids…
We have two sons ages 12 and 10. The oldest we have called Doodlebug since he was little it will transfer here as well. We love them unconditionally even when they are driving us crazy and making me want to pull my hair out. My 7th grade is constantly asking why he has to do something and let me tell you I thought we had outgrown the why stage. Nope! It was just stalled for a few years until we got to this age where they then ask why that have to do something. I won’t lie I’ve used the because I’ve said so phrase many many times. While we try not to use it a lot in our house we do use it when they have been told to do something. My 12 year old has been having problems however with reading and language arts. The reading part is something that we have been working on over the last two years. We’ve started chapter books and other little books that we hoped would peek his interest. We have just having trouble finding that niche he is into when it comes to reading. I’d also appreciate your thoughts if you don’t mind in the comments below.
Then there is the baby granted he's not so much a baby. We have called him Short Round since he was little. So same as the oldest the nickname will travel here as well. The 10 year old. I’m pretty excited for him though because he loves school however, I will admit that we had some problems there towards the end of the school year with not wanting to pay attention and complete his classwork. I tried everything… if you have some ideas or suggestions please drop them down in the comments I’d love to hear them honestly I would.
We also have four furbabies. Madeline whom we call Maddie for short. She’s my baby. My boxer/lab mix and I love her to death. She’s had many nicknames in the short year that we’ve had her. She’s coming up on a year in the next week or so. She’s been my parrot puppy. She used to love sitting up on my shoulder and just looking around. She’s my leg baby because she loves to lay beside my legs. Maddie sleeps with my husband and I every night. We also used have the old girl, Annabelle, she would have been 13 this January. My husband was looking for a puppy for us to have in our apartment and he had been looking for a Chinese Pug. I love those little guys with their smashed up faces. However, he was unable to find one and instead found a Boston Terrier. I was out of town when he got her but there she was when I came home. He sent me a picture of her and asked what to name here and I named her Annabelle. Such a big name for a little dog. Then we have our shelter dog, Penny. Her name was originally Terry but we kindly renamed her Penny. It was similar to Terry and she adjusted pretty quickly to the new name. Penny sleeps with Doodlebug every night or at least every night that his room is clean. We also have another shelter pup. This one is a puppy we got her just before Thanksgiving. She's adorable and her name is Stormy.
So I feel like I’ve kind of rambled on and on about my family and the things I’ll post and I know that this is to give you an idea of who you are reading about or who you are reading things from. I just feel that sometimes these first posts are the ones that really set you up and determine how well you feel you will do and I’ll admit that I don’t feel completely positive on the things that I’ll post but you know what I’m going to give this a shot. In the words of Yoda “Do Or Do Not, There Is No Try.” I would never know how this would go if I did not actually give this a fair shot. I want to do this and I want to succeed at this. Do I want to make money from a blog? Sure why not that is most people’s idea now when it comes to starting a blog and making money but you know what while that’s great and I would love it… I want to share my ideas, tips, tricks, or even just a little note to mom’s everywhere to remember we are all in this together.
And remember moms we are all navigating this thing called motherhood together. There is no handbook on how to raise little ones. Well, there are books tons of them but you know what none of them can help you. They cannot truly prepare you for the life that you are about to embark on. If you see a mother struggling in public just tell them they are doing great because remember you’ve probably been there before. We are all blindly navigating this journey and you know what it’s the most precious and beautiful journey we will go on.
So I hope many of you will join me and maybe find something to try out yourself as you join me on this wonderful journey I call #motherhood. Remember it’s a precious and beautiful journey. Make memories they will remember and make memories you will remember. The sky is the limit when we are raising them. So take part with me as I currently guide my children towards their dreams… which at the moment is anywhere between a zoologist to a Disney Imagineer.

August Wrap

Let's just go ahead and jump right on into it. The One by Kiera Cass Book 3 of 5 Page: 323 Published: June 5, 2014 Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Synopsis: When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown - or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, Ameica realizes just how much she stands to lose - and how hard she' ll have to fight for the future she wants. My Opinion: So much happens in this book. Just so much. I wanted to hate America so much for a short time. I wanted to but no matter how much more I read I could not hate her I just could not. And after a little while one of my most hated characters throughout the trilogy I could not hate either. I just couldn't. I wanted to but the more the book went on and the more things happened I ended up loving my most hated character even more. By the time the book ende...
