The Dreaded Nutter Butter Cookie

Now with a title like that who wouldn't want to check out what this blog post is about? I'm sure many of you are thinking what could she possibly have against Nutter Butter Cookies. Well, that's pretty simple and it's actually a funny story that I want to share with you. I want you to know that I'm more than just Disney post and what's for dinner when we try something new of course. I want you to get to know my family and I. So let's get on with storytime!

So just over 9 years ago, I was pregnant with my now 9-year-old. I was eating everything in site. Nothing was off limits to me when I was hungry at that time. I mean if it was fixed and put in front of me I was usually eating it. Unless everyone else was eating steak because I cannot stand well-done steaks. I would just go find something different to eat and go about my merry way. So anyways...

My mom had found this recipe, we were living with my parents at the time, and she was making it for this gathering that we were all going to. Well, I don't remember why now but she had to leave and she left me in charge of this dessert. It was really a simple dessert and if I can find the recipe I will share it. It was a good dessert. She had made it a few times beforehand so I had tasted it.

So she leaves me in charge and she knows how much I love Nutter Butter cookies... well I guess at this point love should be loved. I was always trying to sneak them when she would bring a pack in the house to make this dessert. My husband was in our room getting ready to go and I'm in the kitchen trying to make this dessert. I've got the cookies all except one in a bag so I can crush them up. I've got the rolling pin out and I'm banging away on this bag of cookies. Getting nowhere. I'm getting frustrated and all I want to do is eat my cookie. That was my whole plan at that time. I wanted to get the cookies crushed up so I could eat my cookie.

I have a feeling that there are a few of you already laughing. Anyways, I'm standing at the kitchen table hitting the bag with the rolling pin. I'm getting nowhere still. I tried rolling the pin across the bag of cookies still getting nowhere really fast and my pregnancy hormones are starting to get the best of me. I mean I haven't full out started to ball my eyes out yet at this point. My husband comes into the kitchen with me banging at this bag like no one's business. Like taking out all of my frustration that it has caused me out on this bag and it's just sitting there full of whole cookies laughing at me. Granted I know that the bag can't laugh at me but that's what it felt like.

He comes over to the table all the while going "Hunny. Hunny hand me the rolling pin." And I'm frustrated because my mom left me to do this recipe and I was trying to get it done and I was not able to get it done. So he finally gets the rolling pin out of my hands and tells me to go and eat my cookie. Yes, the one cookie I saved for myself out of the package. I finally get to eat this cookie. And so...

I take a bite of the cookie and start balling my eyes out. My husband puts down the rolling pin and stops messing with the bag of cookies that he had managed to start crushing and pulls me into a hug. Of course being the concerned husband he is he asked me what was wrong and why I was crying. My response between sobs was, "I don't want the cookie anymore." I was crying because I no longer wanted the cookie. Absolute sobbing because I took a bite of the cookie and then didn't want it anymore.

I have not touched a Nutter Butter Cookie since. Have a funny pregnancy story? Leave it down in the comments below. I'd love to see some other stories like mine.

August Wrap

Let's just go ahead and jump right on into it. The One by Kiera Cass Book 3 of 5 Page: 323 Published: June 5, 2014 Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Synopsis: When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown - or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, Ameica realizes just how much she stands to lose - and how hard she' ll have to fight for the future she wants. My Opinion: So much happens in this book. Just so much. I wanted to hate America so much for a short time. I wanted to but no matter how much more I read I could not hate her I just could not. And after a little while one of my most hated characters throughout the trilogy I could not hate either. I just couldn't. I wanted to but the more the book went on and the more things happened I ended up loving my most hated character even more. By the time the book ende...

March Reads

I have been doing really well with reading however so as not to overwhelm myself we are sticking with the three book rule. Let's hope we really get somewhere with it again. So for March I want to read the following 3 books. Death Comes to Pemberly by P. D. James Synopsis: A rare meeting of literary genius: P. D. James, long among the most admired mystery writers of our time, draws the characters of Jane Austen’s beloved novel Pride and Prejudice into a tale of murder and emotional mayhem. It is 1803, six years since Elizabeth and Darcy embarked on their life together at Pemberley, Darcy’s magnificent estate. Their peaceful, orderly world seems almost unassailable. Elizabeth has found her footing as the chatelaine of the great house. They have two fine sons, Fitzwilliam and Charles. Elizabeth’s sister Jane and her husband, Bingley, live nearby; her father visits often; there is optimistic talk about the prospects of marriage for Darcy’s sister Georgiana. And preparations are under ...
