After Movie Talk

So I recently watched this movie and with this month's post only being book related I can see why a movie review in the middle of all this is going to be a little confusing. Part of the reason I'm review this is because it is based off a book. haha see I worked in the book aspect. This was a great movie. And since I have never read the book this is an unbiased opinion of this movie.

I have seen reviews for the movie now that I have seen the movie not once but twice. I do get that this movie is probably leaving out a great amount of detail when it comes to the book but what movie that's based off a book doesn't hold every detail or word written. Does it suck that this is the case? It does but what can you do. Books would be amazing as a tv series depending on the book but if it requires a movie then that's the route to go.

I did plenty of background on all of the actors and actresses in this movie and they are all new faces. Some of them have been in the limelight before but for the most part all new with only a few items under each of their belts in credits. I enjoy when a movie finds new faces. Some of our current actors and actresses would not have really fit the bill for the characters. No I know nothing about the characters written in the book but seeing characters brought to the screen I think these were perfect choices.

The story is a basic trope starting with a love triangle. The story seems to move pretty fast the run time for this movie is only 113 minutes. As I stated this story does move fairly quickly and in some instances when I watched I was a bit confused as to where we were in the story but then caught up pretty quickly. It was a matter of I looked down for a second away from the television.

This movie was wonderfully told and I'm really looking forward to the sequel. The sequel does not have a release date yet. However, I have discovered in a bit of research that the movie has already been filmed and is in post-production. I for one hope to get my hands on the book and read it soon and be able to give a comparison of the movie and the book by the end of next year. We are so close to the end of the year I don't want to put that on my plate at the moment. However, I really hope that if you haven't watched the film you watch it but remember if you've read the book forget everything you know.

August Wrap

Let's just go ahead and jump right on into it. The One by Kiera Cass Book 3 of 5 Page: 323 Published: June 5, 2014 Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Synopsis: When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown - or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, Ameica realizes just how much she stands to lose - and how hard she' ll have to fight for the future she wants. My Opinion: So much happens in this book. Just so much. I wanted to hate America so much for a short time. I wanted to but no matter how much more I read I could not hate her I just could not. And after a little while one of my most hated characters throughout the trilogy I could not hate either. I just couldn't. I wanted to but the more the book went on and the more things happened I ended up loving my most hated character even more. By the time the book ende...

March Reads

I have been doing really well with reading however so as not to overwhelm myself we are sticking with the three book rule. Let's hope we really get somewhere with it again. So for March I want to read the following 3 books. Death Comes to Pemberly by P. D. James Synopsis: A rare meeting of literary genius: P. D. James, long among the most admired mystery writers of our time, draws the characters of Jane Austen’s beloved novel Pride and Prejudice into a tale of murder and emotional mayhem. It is 1803, six years since Elizabeth and Darcy embarked on their life together at Pemberley, Darcy’s magnificent estate. Their peaceful, orderly world seems almost unassailable. Elizabeth has found her footing as the chatelaine of the great house. They have two fine sons, Fitzwilliam and Charles. Elizabeth’s sister Jane and her husband, Bingley, live nearby; her father visits often; there is optimistic talk about the prospects of marriage for Darcy’s sister Georgiana. And preparations are under ...
