Obsidio Book Review

Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Book Three in the Illuminae Files

Goodreads Star Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Average Rating: 4.55
Started Reading: 09/12/19 - 10/3/19
Pages: 618
Publication Date: March 13, 2018

Illuminae Star Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Gemina Star Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Trilogy Overall Rating: 15 out of 15 Stars

Rating for Overall explained: I decided since this was a trilogy I was just going to add up all the stars and since it was five out of five for each it was therefore fifteen out of fifteen total stars. So if I read a six book series then it would be blank out of thirty stars. I hope that explains it well.

Synopsis: Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship, Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza—but who knows what they'll find seven months after the invasion?

Meanwhile, Kady's cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza's ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys—an old flame from Asha's past—reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict.

With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heroes will fall, and hearts will be broken.

My Over View:

When I first picked up this series I wasn't sure what I was going to think of it. I wasn't one for Sci-fi and I honestly thought I was going to hate it. However, I fell instantly in love with Kady and Ezra and then Aiden who if you've read the series knows what Aiden does. I'm going to try and leave spoilers out in case people haven't read them yet. Then in book two you meet Hanna, Nik, and Ella. Ella and Nik are cousins. The space station they are on is attacked by the same company that attacked the planet in the Illuminae. So finally we are aboard the final ship. Kady, Ezra, Hanna, Nik, and Ella have all met. So in this final installment we get Asha and Rhys. We get the verdict. We get so much in this book. And it's such an amazing tell. The way it is presented is still a favorite of mine. The IMs. The files. The photos. Everything. The story in my opinion wouldn't have been a completely story if it had not been for the fact that it was told this way. I think if it had been told in any other fashion it would not have been such an amazing story. To hear how Aiden's views himself is another thing I love. He makes all the choices that he knows the humans cannot make. He tries his hardest to do the right thing but sometimes while it's right it's also wrong. If you haven't read these yet I will ask you this...

WHY NOT? These books are so amazing and the way the story is told is one to keep you going until the end. And while I feel that the second book and third book dragged a bit the last 300 pages are enough to keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I cannot wait to pick up another book by these two amazing authors together.

August Wrap

Let's just go ahead and jump right on into it. The One by Kiera Cass Book 3 of 5 Page: 323 Published: June 5, 2014 Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Synopsis: When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown - or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, Ameica realizes just how much she stands to lose - and how hard she' ll have to fight for the future she wants. My Opinion: So much happens in this book. Just so much. I wanted to hate America so much for a short time. I wanted to but no matter how much more I read I could not hate her I just could not. And after a little while one of my most hated characters throughout the trilogy I could not hate either. I just couldn't. I wanted to but the more the book went on and the more things happened I ended up loving my most hated character even more. By the time the book ende...
