Would you believe it if I said I got one actual book read and then I read 7 manga. I was in a mood for manga but I blame the husband for that after he got me hooked on a few new anime. So let's go ahead and jump feet first into this pool!
The Quintessential Quintuplets, Vol. 5

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Synopsis:
Futaro Uesugi the private tutor has come down sick after the school trip, but not even illness can keep him from trying to get the quints to study! As he tries to get closer to the five girls, he ends up driving a wedge between them instead. And just when he's about to hit rock bottom, Futaro's past catches up to him in a big way?! The drama continues in volume 5.
My Opinion:
I still love this manga. I have to say that I would love for this to just be a complete harem and him not have to choose one of the five girls he is stuck tutoring as a way to figure out who he is going to marry. I love how he manages to fix things towards the end of each manga that has managed to get messed up. He cares about each of them in different ways. He wants each of them to succeed.

Synopsis:
Faced with the choice of being married to a strange spirit or being made into dinner, Aoi creates a third option for herself!
Aoi Tsubaki inherited her grandfather’s ability to see spirits—and his massive debt to them! Now she’s been kidnapped and taken to Kakuriyo, the spirit world, to make good on his bill. Her options: marry the head of the inn her grandfather trashed, or get eaten by ayakashi. But Aoi isn’t the type to let spirits push her around, and she’s determined to redeem her grandfather’s IOU on her own terms!
Aoi wasn’t the only orphan her grandfather Shiro took in. Before she went to live with him, he rescued the spider demons Akatsuki and Suzuran and put them to work as unpaid servants! Now Aoi is questioning everything she thought she knew about her upbringing. What was Shiro up to? And more importantly, does that make the spider demons family?!
My Opinion:
I do not know how to handle this manga. I love every bit of this series! I kid you not it's one of the best series I have picked up. I have to say the fact that it draws on Beauty and the Beast themes definitely helps put this manga series in my radar. Now if only they would continue with this anime. Aoi managed to learn about demons from her grandfather even though he ended up giving her away to one of the demons that he created a large debt with she knew the things she needed in order to have a restaurant of her own so she could fullfil the IOU her grandfather left on her own terms and her food has helped her do that. All thanks to being taught how to cook for demons.

Aoi is finally ready to open her restaurant on the grounds of the Tenjin-ya inn, but not everyone is as excited about it as she is. Some of the chefs of the main restaurant are doing everything they can to destroy her business before it even has a chance to start! Aoi is determined to keep going, but her detractors are deadly serious about stopping her.
My Opinion:
Watching as the demons try to sabotage her as she tries to open up her restaurant was heart breaking for a bit. Then you realize that she can hold her own and that while things are still going for her to pay off the debt in her own way she is still often times referred to as the bride of inn keeper. The main cook and his assistants try to sabotage her at every turn. I loved watching her over come their sabatoge though. She is a strong character.

Aoi has hopes that her time in Kakuriyo will mean more than just toiling to repay her grandfather’s debts. She has a personal mission to find the yokai who kept her from starving when her mother abandoned her. Yet all she has to go on is the memory of a simple white-faced mask. She gets an important clue when a well-fed guest in a similar mask tells her it’s a common souvenir from the southern lands. But how can Aoi investigate further when a lone human in Kakuriyo is sure to become a snack for the first spirit to pass by?
My Opinion:
I love that she has so many memories from when she was little. The fact that demons or at least one yokai tried to keep her alive when she was little has stuck with her. I think that memory alone is another reason why she has decided to stay where she is at for so long. The memories of that mask. The food that was given to her to keep her healthy and alive. It makes you wonder what the end result is going to be for this manga. Why were they invested in keeping her fed after her mother abandoned her. Why did her mother abandon her? I know the answer to this question but I wish not to give to much away.

Enjoy this biblio-fantasy for bookworms!
My Opinion:
Oh my gosh, I loved every bit of this! Like I can't even tell you how much I fell absolutely in love with this. I fell in love with it when I was introduced to the anime by my husband. This is just the cutest story that I have come to find in anime. Our main character is reincarnated as a child in a world where books are very rare and no one except nobles know how to read. She goes to many lengths to find a book to read and to be able to read. I do not want to give to much away but I really think that this is something that all book readers should read this amazing start to the manga.

Aoi has been asked to cater an anniversary dinner for a royal couple, and she’s overjoyed at what this will mean for her restaurant. She and Ginji head to the Eastern Lands to do some grocery shopping at a fancy imported food market. But before she can even find the perfect ingredient, Aoi is abducted! Locked in a crate without her tengu fan, Aoi has no chance of making it back in time to cook dinner for the royals. But missing a good business opportunity is the least of her worries when water begins to flood her prison!
My Opinion:
It's horrible to watch this amazing character be kidnapped solely for the fact that the royals wanted to eat a meal created by her and not the head chef of the inn. Okay well the head chef is not the sole person behind this. His assistants are. The kidnap her to give the honor to the head chef at the inn because they believe that she does not deserve the honor of cooking for the royals that are visiting. Not realizing that the main reason why one of the royals requested her was because they wanted to taste foods that they missed because one of the royals is from the human realm that Aoi comes from.

Soon Laura develops a fascination with her handsome and powerful captor. But as a precarious, risky relationship forms between them, forces outside their control threaten to tear them apart...
My Opinion:
Oh my gosh, this book was hot. I do mean absolutely hot. I want to say this was an amazing book. I know there are a bunch of people who would call me crazy for calling this book amazing. However, I'm looking at several details. The first of which and the main thing being that this is a translated book. I kept in mind that books being translated can get lost in translation a bit. Other countries do not build their sentences the same way as Americans.
So keeping that major thought in mind I do think that this book was amazing. It is a dark romance and no this may not be for everyone. However, a book doesn't need to be condemned because it wasn't your cup of tea. The people who read it and love it do not need to be condemned for their taste in books.
I enjoyed this book and I did read it obviously like everyone else after they saw the movie. I did notice several difference between the two. Did it make me like the Movie any less? No it didn't. Were there moments in the book that made me squirm? I would say so but not bad. There were a few moments that I would say might trigger some people.
