Happy New Year

I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year. I would normally post this on the 1st but seeing as how the 1st does not land on my posting schedule I'm posting it a day early, because my next post we are going to be jumping right on in. We made it through 2021. I hope you come and join me in my journey through 2022. Live a day in my life as a... Substitute Teacher... Mother... House Wife... and Wannabe Author. Journey with me through writing a story. Maybe Fantasy. Maybe Historical Fiction. Maybe something with Spice. Only time will tell what I may write. But for now Let us close the book on this year/chapter and prepare for a new chapter in this book called life.

Did I Hit My Goals?

I did not set very large goals for myself this year. Over the last two years my reading declined a great deal. I wanted to be realistic about my reading goals. I thought back over the years at what I read the most and what I wanted to read this year. I know my reading taste have changed a great deal over the years. When I started reading again heavily in August of 2014 I was really into Young Adult. That was really all I was picking up. However, as I have gotten older I have discovered that I have different taste now. I still enjoy Young Adult don't get me wrong. Some of my favorite books to this day are young adult books. So what were my goals over the course of this year? Let's run over them real quick. I wanted to read a grand total of 12 books this year. I wanted to read over 10,000 pages. I wanted 5 to be Manga. Trying to step out of my comfort zone. I wanted 5 to be romance. I've been reading a lot of romance in the last year. I wanted 2 of those books to be middle

Fall Challenge Results

Let's take a good peek at all of the books that I read during this fall challenge. I think I'm doing better at these challenge that are seasonal than I am my throw back challenges. I' sure you've seen that I didn't do much with those throwback challenges. I do not think I'll include those next year. I'm thinking that The Alphabet Challenges and the Seasonal Challenges are what I am going to stick with for 2022. Anyways on with the books for Fall. Zodiac Academy #1: The Awakening by Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti Book 1 of 8 Synopsis: You have been selected to attend Zodiac Academy, where your star sign defines your destiny. If you're one of the Fae, elemental magic is in your blood. And apparently it's in ours. As twins born in the month of Gemini, we're a rare breed even in this academy of supernatural a-holes. Changelings were outlawed hundreds of years ago but I guess our birth parents didn't get the memo. Which means we're to

Seasonal Challenge #4 Winter

This challenge seemed fairly easy. Oh who am I kidding this challenge is very easy if I am being completely honest. This is a challenge where you read during the four different seasons. I'll be posting this challenge each time it comes along but the other three will be during the start of the week before the start of the challenge for the season. I'm trying to keep things simple and updated during all of this. I'll be posting as much as I can to update and that may mean that multiple blogs may be posted during the week other than my once three times a week. I am hoping that this will also encourage everyone to read during these challenges as well. So the dates for the Winter Season will begin December 21st and last through March 19th.  That's a good three months of reading and if I'm still reading five books a month then I should get at least 10 books in. Now normally I would post the books that I'll be reading during this time I can't exactly say. This
