It's my Anniversary

Once again book lovers I am not going to post much today. I am celebrating 13 wonderful years of marriage.

May Reads

Can I even attempt to read anything right now? I don't know if I can honestly. With the end of the year coming up. Work picking up quickly. Things are in general getting absolutely crazy. I have to get books and chromebooks back to schools since my children have been virtual the whole year. But I am hoping to pick up just one book. One book in the hopes of getting into a reading groove again. So for this month the book I have picked out should be a really easy read. It's a middle grade read my husband has been telling me to keep reading the series and I have been trying to. I really have been but I get sucked into other books that I want to read more but I'm going to attempt to read: The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan Book 4 of 5 Page: 361 Published: March 6, 2008 Synopsis: Percy Jackson isn't expecting freshman orientation to be any fun. But when a mysterious mortal acquaintance appears at his potential new school, followed by demon cheerleaders, things quickl

Upcoming Series-Baker's Corner

So this morning I did not post anything but never fear there will be two posts today it's just that this one is happening a little late. I mean there will be times that post could be early or even hours late. I mean I am after all doing things as they come to me. However, last night I decided that I really wanted to get back in the kitchen again. I love being in my kitchen when the mood really hits me. And there are sometimes weeks where I want to be doing other things than being in my kitchen. I mean what mom wants to spend her life in the kitchen all day every day? But I digress for just a second, today is one of those days I want to be in the kitchen. I want to bake something. Cook something. It's just one of those things today. So I decided that if I was going to do that I was going to make a series of post about it. I mean we all find that amazing recipe on Pinterest that we would love to try and last night as I was going through pins I found a ton of things that I w

Pizza Roll-Ups a Non-Sandwich Idea

So I've been trying to find some fun lunch ideas for my kiddos to try so they are not taking sandwiches to school daily. I found quite a few ideas that my kids will eat up with no questions asked. I mean it was a surprise on the fact that they would eat these things with no questions asked. I mean I was wondering what I would feed my pickiest eater for lunch during the school year. So during the summer last year we started to try out a bunch of new options for lunch. There are many things that they decided they didn't like and then many things that they decided they liked. Now one item that I made during the summer last year my oldest decided he would eat it all day every day. However, I'll talk about that one in a different posting later. This week I want to discuss Pizza Roll-Ups. I was a little hesitant on this one because my littlest one is not a fan of pepperoni. So let me be completely honest, everything that I gave to my children to try I ate before they did. If I

March Wrap Up

This month was not a great month for reading. I blame my son's teacher for my sudden reading slump. She had the kids reading a book that even I was not prepared for. Prisoner B-3087 by Alan Gratz Synopsis:  Survive. At any cost. 10 concentration camps. 10 different places where you are starved, tortured, and worked mercilessly. It's something no one could imagine surviving. But it is what Yanek Gruener has to face. As a Jewish boy in 1930s Poland, Yanek is at the mercy of the Nazis who have taken over. Everything he has, and everyone he loves, have been snatched brutally from him. And then Yanek himself is taken prisoner -- his arm tattooed with the words PRISONER B-3087. He is forced from one nightmarish concentration camp to another, as World War II rages all around him. He encounters evil he could have never imagined, but also sees surprising glimpses of hope amid the horror. He just barely escapes death, only to confront it again seconds later. Can Yanek make it through th
