July Reads

I want to try to get out of this slump. There are two books that I am going to try and get finished this month. I had thought about trying to get all three of these books read but I was just not to sure on if I should aim for three books this month even though I do not doubt I could get all three of them read if I really wanted too. These are re-reads for me so I already know that I love these two books. I love all three of the books I would hope to read but with a vacation this month that is the other reason why I am only picking two of the three books in the trilogy. So without further ado... A Court of Thorns and Roses Book Talk

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas Book 1 of ... So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price ... Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre's presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever. My Opinion: This is more of a re-read for me. I really enjoyed this book the first time that I read

Black Book Talk

Black by T. L. Smith Book 1 of 3 Kindle Unlimited Available Page Count: 277 Published: January 29th, 2016 Rating: 3 Out of 5 Stars Synopsis: I am loyal, but I will betray you. I am strong, but I have scars. I am an angel, but the devil. I met her when I was sixteen and she was a breath of fresh air. She swooped in, making me smile. But then she left, taking my next breath with her. Her smile could light up a room, making my black heart pitter patter. I found her again ten years later, with a syringe in her arm. Blood coming from between her legs. She was broken and I was glad she was broken. She wouldn't think less of me and my damaged ways. My Opinion: This book got me started in my Spicy reads. I was not upset with the book but nor was I completely excited by the book. I was moderately content with it. As I did read this early into the year I am having difficult moments recalling sections of the book. However, I do remember the book ending on a cliff hanger and I won't lie I&

Seasonal Challenge #2 Summer

This challenge seems to be fairly easy. Oh who am I kidding this challenge is very easy if I am being completely honest. This is a challenge where you read during the four different seasons. I'm trying to honestly remember to post this challenge just the week before it happens unless I'm in need of post then the max it'll come up is one month. I'm trying to keep things simple and updated during all of this. I'll be posting as much as I can to update and that may mean that multiple blogs may be posted during the week other than my once three times a week. I am hoping that this will also encourage everyone to read during these challenges as well. So the dates for the Summer Season will begin June 21st and last through September 22nd.  That's a good three months of reading and if I'm still reading five books a month then I should get at least 10 books in. Now normally I would post the books that I'll be reading during this time I can't exactl

Book or Movie? 365 Days

So let us start talking about book to movie adaptations real quick. We love them and we hate them. Some of them flop and some of them soar. Some of them we wish they would give a do over even if it's in tv show format. Some of them we wish they had never touched when it comes down to it. So what about 365 days? Honestly, it's a toss up for me. I enjoyed the book and there was so much more to the book than there was to the movie. The movie was good don't get me wrong. Don't come at me because I said it was good. It's not like I said it was great. It was good.  However, let's talk about this. As a book it's great I loved a lot of the details. And it doesn't bother me about some of the aspects of the book. A mafia man kidnapping a woman to hope she falls in love with him after 365 days. Is that really idea for any woman. Not really but it's fiction. I can fall behind this. What happens in the book though is different from the movie. Not by a lot they ju

365 Movie

365 Days Movie Review I have to start off with saying that this movie does have English and Polish spoken throughout the movie. If that is not something you yourself think you will like this movie is not for you. This movie does have triggering themes. Please check your triggers. However, one trigger is kidnapping because our main female character is in face kidnapped. We also have mafia themes included with this as well. So let's talk about how Lara is not exactly in the best relationship to begin with. It sucks her boyfriend in my opinion is an asshole who just likes the fact that he's got some amazing arm candy. That's what it feels like he is doing because when she is trying to engage him in activity he reminds her about her 'poor' heart. Yes, she does have a heart condition but adult activities should not bother it that badly. What are you hiding Martin? Hmmm We then find them leaving for Italy the next morning. They get to the hotel and they are drinking outsi

365 Days Book Talk

After surviving the attack, he vows that he will find the woman in his vision and make her his own. No matter what. Can Yanek make it through the terror without losing his hope, his will -- and, most of all, his sense of who he really is inside? Based on an astonishing true story. My Review: I cannot give a full r

Binge Worthy Shows Part 1

I have many shows that I love to just sit and binge watch. It's a pretty long list honestly. However, for now, we'll just talk about my Top Five. I'll be honest I went with all of my crime related shows for this first one because I'm constantly binge-watching one of these five shows. A lot of it has to do with the story but there are the occasional times I've picked a show to binge watch for the day just so I can watch a particular actor. Let's start with Criminal Minds. This one while I love the story I enjoy seeing Shemar Moore! Hello, chocolate thunder! Ugh, this is a really great show to binge watch even if you are not wanting to watch it for any one particular actor or actress. Now there have been many characters to come and go and I've loved just about every single one of them. I've questioned a few choices and was never too sad to see the ones I questioned leave the show. I was overjoyed when they brought Emily back... I cannot tell you how mu

May Wrap Up

This blog post is going to be really short. I did not read anything this last month. I think a lot of it had to do with how much I was working during this last month of school. So there is nothing to report for this month except that I wish I had read more.
