A Court of Thorns and Roses
by Sarah J. Maas
Book 1 of ...
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Synopsis:
Feyre's survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price ...
Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre's presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.
My Opinion:
This is more of a re-read for me. I really enjoyed this book the first time that I read the book. I could not put it down. On several occasions during the first read through my husband would come home to find me asleep with the book because I didn't put it down because I fell asleep while reading.I spent so much time avoiding social media when this book came out that I had to read it before joining the social media world once again. I could not get enough of this book fast enough. The same holds true for this second time through the book. This time I did do it as an audiobook. The reason for this is because I can spend a great deal of time driving.
When I have to go to the middle school my son attends a round trip is thirty minutes and when I make that drive twice a day that's an hour of time that is used to have the book playing. I really enjoyed listening to the book this time around. I plan to finish listening to the rest of the books as soon as I get the chance this year.
